Two engines are better than one

Two engines are better than one

When Firefox 3.0 came into my life was incomplete because the Google Toolbar was not available for this version of the browser. The reason is simple: I have enough with a search engine.

It is true that Firefox is one of the most comfortable search functions of the market. It allows you to switch between different search engines you’ve added a quick and easy but ... Why go forth between browsers and can be two search boxes? First of all we must say that this trick, if they deserve to be called and will only be useful if your screen is large enough. Otherwise, the second search box will eat up valuable space in the Address bar.

So, if you’re one of those people who, like me, are unable to live without shed its always accessible Google search, but they need while other search engines, the first thing you do is install the latest version Google Toolbar for Firefox.

The Google Toolbar by default looks like the following.

Technically speaking, we have achieved our purpose, which was to have two engines in the Firefox window. However, it is quite likely that the famous Google toolbar all you’re interested in is the form and not the entire series of buttons that brings.

el icono de la llave inglesaFortunately, you can change it. To do this go to the right of the bar and click on the wrench icon.

FormatosThen go to the Formats tab.

Here are several options regarding how to display the bar, but what interests us is at the bottom of the window.

Here you make a third option. This will hide the Google toolbar, so you gain space, and you change the Firefox search box with your own.

At this point return to having only a search box, but will not for long.

The next action to take is to Right click anywhere on the Toolbar and select "Customize ..."

The resulting window will show all the buttons you can add to the toolbar: History, Downloads, Cut, Paste y. .. Search.

Drag this button to the Toolbar. For example, to the left of the other search box.

And that’s it, you have two hunters in a small space. Now you just need to incorporate interesting search engines, you can find on sites like Firefox, Mycroft… Do not forget to put the search box Softonic!
